CollecTin teams up with iZettle to boost your Contactless Fundraising

Press Release

CollecTin, the contactless donation booster kit, is now compatible with iZettle, the UK’s most popular card reader, to transform the way people can donate to charities on the street.

Initiated in 2014 by Sprout Design ltd, CollecTin was the first commercially available charity specific contactless solution. The housing is covered in the charity’s branding and visually simplifies the opportunity to donate with contactless with a clean design. The first batch was tested by the UK’s largest charities in 2015 in partnership with Barclaycard. It went into production as a modular system, with thousands more units manufactured to be compatible with different Bluetooth Readers, with iZettle now the latest addition to the range.

Recognition and trust in donating with contactless readers had been quite low amongst potential charity donors. To solve this, CollecTin provides a bold, simple way of boosting trust, by branding the reader with a full wrap, and highlighting a simple Tap to Donate opportunity with a clear, fixed amount.

CollecTin initiatives highlighted the need for new modes of use for mPOS readers, and iZettle now offer a repeated checkout function in the iOS version of their app. Repeated checkout is fast and reliable, collecting up to 8 donations per minute, which perfect for collecting in high footfall situations such as event queues and at transport hubs. Fixed amounts can be given repeatedly without the need for the volunteer to repeatedly reset checkout in the app.

Continuous collecting can drain any device’s batteries during street fundraising campaigns, so the CollecTin also contains an easy-to-swap booster battery in the handle to charge the reader, giving 2X more uptime when on the move.

This new option of purchasing a CollecTin with an iZettle card reader will provide a low-cost payment solution for charities and organisations when collecting donations via debit and credit cards. Fully branded units will launch at an Early Bird price of just £70 each (saving 30%). The transaction fees are extremely competitive at 1.75% per transaction with no monthly fees.

“As we move towards a cashless society, it’s absolutely crucial that charities evolve if they want to maintain – and possibly increase – charitable giving on the street,” said Chris Allwood, Commercial Director at CollecTin. “By adding iZettle compatibility to our CollecTin range, we can give charities and other organisations more choice and opportunities to take donations via contactless payments, in a convenient way and at a very competitive price. Guy Robinson, CollecTin Design Director added: “We can’t wait to see how Charities use the CollecTin to supercharge their iZettle readers.”

To celebrate the launch; we are offering Early Bird Pricing of £70 (RRP £99) for the CollecTin kit including your artwork applied as a printed branded wrap until 29th Feb. For more information visit: www.collectin.com.
